Distribution of collective remuneration
A large share of the remuneration collected by Kopinor is distributed collectively through our member organisations. The distribution is based on surveys and data showing which types of works are copied and used. The member organisations are responsible for distributing the remuneration to rightsholders or using it for collective purposes that benefit rightsholders.
How collective remuneration is distributed
Most of the remuneration collected by Kopinor is distributed through our member organisations. The remuneration is allocated among the organisations based on data about the works that have been copied and used. The distribution is carried out according to an allocation model agreed upon by the organisations.
Members and non-members must be treated equally. The member organisations decide how collective remuneration is used within the applicable rules and agreements.
How the remuneration benefits rightsholders
The remuneration may be distributed directly to rightsholders or used for collective purposes, such as grants, scholarships and other initiatives that support authors, journalists, illustrators, photographers, artists, composers and publishers.
