Copyright notice
If you do not want your content to be used for artificial intelligence (AI) training or other forms of text and data mining, you should expressly reserve your rights. A copyright notice makes it clear that your works are protected by copyright and may only be used with permission, under licence or as otherwise permitted by law.
Copyright protection
Copyright protection does not depend on registration or marking.
However, Kopinor recommends using copyright notices to make ownership and licensing conditions clear, both for printed and digital publications.
For websites, we also recommend including the English copyright notice in the website source code as an HTML comment.

For English-language websites and publications, we recommend using the following copyright notice:

This material is protected by copyright law.
Reproduction and making available is not permitted without the consent of the rightsholders, a licence from a collective management organisation or pursuant to law.
This prohibition also applies to training of, and other uses of the material in, artificial intelligence and implies an explicit reservation against text and data mining pursuant to Article 4 of the Digital Single Market Directive.
Reserving rights against text and data mining
Under the EU Digital Single Market Directive, rightsholders can reserve their rights against text and data mining (TDM) for purposes other than scientific research.
We recommend making this reservation in two ways:
- by using a robots.txt file on websites
- by including a copyright notice in publications
Using robots.txt
Where possible, reservations should be made in a machine-readable format.
The most widely accepted solution is to use a robots.txt file on your website. Responsible AI developers are expected to respect the restrictions specified in this file.
One limitation of robots.txt is that website owners must specify which web crawlers or AI services the restrictions apply to.
Existing copyright notice
The material on Kopinor’s website is protected by copyright. Unless otherwise stated, text provided by Kopinor may be stored, printed, reproduced and distributed without special permission, provided that the source is clearly cited, including Kopinor’s web address. Material may not be altered, adapted or used in other contexts without the prior consent of Kopinor and any relevant rightsholders.
